About Elizabeth Carmel Hamilton
Art is my immediate and honest response to emotions, and it functions as a way to analyze, examine, and better understand the world around me. Socially and personally, art occupies an important role in my perceptions about life and society.
My earlier and current works explore feelings of isolation from my culture of origin. Throughout my body of work, I strive to communicate my often ineffable feelings into something I can see.
I earned my BFA from the University of Wyoming in 2007 and am currently a graduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a Ph.D. in art history.
My personal connection with my own work fosters my interest in the works of other artists. Therefore, I remain involved in the study of art history. My research interests include American Art and Black Cultural Studies, with an emphasis on critical theories of racial identity and nationality
